In the heart of Old Town Victoria, The Bedford Regency Hotel is housed in one of the city’s cherished historical buildings. The building housed the Garrick's Head Saloon, (now Garrick’s Head Pub) one of the oldest English pubs in Canada, established there in 1867. Over the next century, a few different iterations of the attached hotel and adjoining basement space came and went—the most infamous incarnation being The Churchill Hotel, which ran from the 1940s through to the 70s. Running adjacent to the building is Victoria’s heritage pedestrian walkway, Bastion Square, home to the city’s oldest open-air markets where craft artisans and local musicians celebrate every summer season.
